It is Sunday and she has improved greatly. Sorry for the late post, we actually slept in. Toni had two team mates spend the night so we snuggled in with the dogs and really slept. This morning they sent me a picture from their phone of Toni sitting on the edge of her bed, so of course we called and they said she had been up, her dressings had been changed on her left leg and she ate her pancakes and bacon breakfast. Today we are supposed to find out about rehab options available to her. She has expressed a desire to post a blog herself today so I don't want to go too far into details. Toni is a tenacious fighter and finds strength from a source beyond us I am sure. Although she is still in pain, the little triumphs count as milestones.

Love to all, keep up the prayers,

Scott & Laurel

  1. We Love You Toni!!!!

It is so great to hear that you are improving everyday. I can't wait until I can put my arms around you and give you a huge hug.

The road ahead will be difficult, but I have no doubt that you will face it with the strength and courage that you have shown since the beginning.

I look forward to hearing about your progress in the coming days, weeks and months ahead, but remember it is ok to have bad days too. They do not mean that you are weak, but simply that you need to rest.

Life may not be turning out how you or your parents planned it for you. You may be asking - Why me? But, instead of resenting the events, be grateful that you are alive to feel the pain. It will make you stronger for it.

    We Love you!!!!

  6. Toni, I'm so glad to know that you are giving this battle your full effort, just like a soccer star should. I'm a mom to three soccer players, so I know the indomitable spirit you must posses.
You may not realize it now, but you have been given a great gift: you now know beyond a doubt how much you are loved by your family, friends and even people you have never met before. You have faced death head-on and won. From now on, you will never look at life in the same way. Food will taste better, fresh air will smell sweeter and just walking across the room will feel like winning a championship game.
You are in my prayers for your continued recovery. May God work great miracle in your life now and always.
    Love, Julie from OLS.
